Welcome Saorla Miller to Halifax Tides FC

We’re proud to announce Nova Scotian, Saorla Miller, as our first homegrown player to join Tides FC! A true product of Halifax’s soccer community, Saorla has been a standout player from the moment she first laced up her boots. From the age of four, she’s been honing her skills right here in Halifax, starting with Timbits and progressing through the club ranks, all the way to representing Nova Scotia at the provincial level.

Saorla went on to win a bronze medal at the 2017 Canada Games and always had the ambition to play at the highest level. That drive led her to the University of Memphis, where she shone brightly over five seasons, winning four conference championships and helping her team reach back-to-back NCAA Sweet Sixteens.

A true leader on and off the pitch, she started 94 of 98 games in her career, captained the team for her final two years, and finished her senior season as the top scorer in the American Athletic Conference with 12 goals (half of them game winners), and 3 assists.

After graduating in December 2023, Saorla took her talents abroad, signing with Keflavik FC in Iceland’s top division. In her debut season, she played 19 games, scoring 7 goals and adding 3 assists, further developing her game on the international stage. Now, she is coming home to represent Halifax in the Northern Super League, and she couldn’t be more excited.

A dynamic and versatile player, Saorla excels in multiple attacking roles, adapting seamlessly to whatever the game demands. Her speed, work ethic, and vision constantly trouble opposing defences, making her a persistent goal threat. With her ability to take on defenders 1v1 and a relentless drive to succeed, she’s one of the most exciting players to watch every time she’s on the pitch.

Welcome home, Saorla!
